                                                                                     NOTICES FOR THIS WEEK

  • As is our custom on the first Sunday of the month, we shall have the blessing and sprinkling of Holy Water at the beginning of Mass today.  As we are sprinkled ‘Asperges me’ will be sung.  This ancient text is from psalm 51 –‘Thou shalt purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.’  Some of you may well remember this lovely antiphon. Do join in.

·         Youth Unity begins its new term with a party this Friday September 10.  Please see the posters regarding the Contemporary Dance and Street Dance projects which will begin soon.  It looks like an exciting autumn.

·         We shall celebrate S.Matthew’s Day with a Solemn Pontifical Mass at 6 pm on Sunday 19 September.  Bishop Edwin Barnes will celebrate and preach.  A party will take place after Mass.  If you would like to make a donation towards the costs of the festival that would be much appreciated – to Fr Humphreys, please.    Posters are now available, please take one and display it, and invite your family and friends to join us.

·         Please pray for our Confirmation candidates – Gisela, Sharon, and Rita – as they prepare to be confirmed this Wednesday 8 September.  Do make an effort to come to Mass that evening at 7.30 pm.  The Bishop of Fulham will be with us.
